Banks, embassies, foreign registries and universities are strict about form. A document that is improperly notarized, missing a step in the legalization chain, or a deed poll that was never Gazetted can be rejected outright — often at the worst possible moment.

Legalization is a further step — authentication by Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, followed by the destination country's embassy or consulate — required when a notarized document must be recognised and used outside Kenya.
In most cases, yes. Kenya is not a party to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention, so a Kenyan document generally cannot simply be "apostilled." Instead it must go through notarization, Ministry of Foreign Affairs authentication, and legalization at the relevant foreign embassy or consulate before it will be accepted abroad. We manage this full chain on your behalf.
You execute a deed poll declaring your new name, have it notarized, and publish a notice in the Kenya Gazette. Once Gazetted, you can use the deed poll to update your national ID, passport, KRA PIN and bank records. We draft the deed poll, arrange notarization and handle the Gazette publication for you.
